Weight Loss Yoga
Weight loss yoga, often referred to as “Yoga for Weight Loss,” is a holistic approach to fitness that combines physical postures, breath control, and mindfulness to support weight management. Unlike high-impact or strenuous workouts, weight loss yoga focuses on creating a sustainable and balanced lifestyle that addresses both the physical and mental aspects of well-being.
In weight loss yoga, a variety of yoga poses are strategically selected to boost metabolism, improve flexibility, and build muscle strength. These poses may include dynamic sequences, standing poses, twists, and inversions. Sun Salutations, for example, are commonly incorporated to create a flowing and energizing practice.
Pranayama, or breath control, is an integral component of weight loss yoga. Specific breathing techniques, such as Kapalabhati (Skull Shining Breath) and Ujjayi (Victorious Breath), not only enhance lung capacity but also increase the efficiency of oxygen utilization in the body, supporting calorie burning and metabolism.
